Timeline:1940s

Following the end of World War II, Ohio State saw its enrollment and employment swell with veterans returning from the war. The challenges and lack of resources awaiting these veterans led them to fight for change over the years and Ohio State eventually created the Office of Military and Veterans Services.

Ohio State became the first Big Ten school - and one of the first universities in the nation - to establish a comprehensive Office of Military and Veterans Services in Academic Affairs.
